Caissa Tourism is using two Qingdao departures aboard Adora Mediterranea to connect a short international cruise with time ashore in its Chinese homeport.
In a company update dated 21 October 2026, reproduced by Sina Finance, Caissa said its first charter had departed on 20 October and a second was scheduled for 24 October. Both were four-night round trips calling at Fukuoka in Japan and Jeju in South Korea. The update does not establish whether every planned call subsequently took place.
The operator described links with Qingdao’s Dabaodao historic district and Xiaoguan Island resort, giving passengers reasons to stay before embarkation or after returning. It also outlined different shore-excursion options rather than a single sightseeing programme.
The approach fits the city’s wider effort to connect cruise tickets with local attractions, shopping and hotels. At a 29 September municipal briefing, officials outlined October cruise departures and ticket-linked discounts.
For the regional cruise market, the development illustrates a homeport strategy that combines charter capacity with destination experiences. Neither source establishes the additional visitor spending generated, so the commercial impact remains unquantified.
