Seatrade Cruise Asia has announced more than 35 speakers for its November conference in Malaysia, putting the practical requirements for expanding Asian cruise business alongside discussions of luxury and expedition travel. The speaker update was published on 23 October; the conference itself is still ahead, on 16–17 November in Kuala Lumpur.

Deployment and destination readiness on the agenda

The programme includes conversations with Aman at Sea president and CEO Jonathan Wilson and Swan Hellenic CEO Andrea Zito. Wilson will discuss the Asian opportunity for luxury cruising ahead of Amangati’s planned 2027 launch, while Zito will address Swan Hellenic’s first Asia-Pacific season.

Other sessions will cover attracting long-haul fly-cruise passengers, passenger clearance and terminal operations, shipbuilding and repair, and itinerary development. A Malaysia-focused discussion will examine what the country needs to secure sustained cruise-line commitment. For regional ports and travel suppliers, these are useful areas to watch when assessing future deployment opportunities.

Kuala Lumpur conference, then Penang

The organiser’s current event website lists the main conference for 16–17 November and an optional Penang excursion for 18–19 November. The add-on includes rail travel from Kuala Lumpur, a ferry transfer to the cruise terminal, a shipboard luncheon and local destination activities. These separate dates matter for delegates arranging transport and accommodation.

The event is being held in Malaysia for the first time. Its combination of conference sessions and a destination visit gives Asian cruise businesses a chance to discuss market development and see part of the shore-side offering in person.
