Adora Cruises has announced a ban on smoking on guest-cabin balconies, with different implementation dates for its three ships. The operator published the policy on November 2, 2026, citing voyage safety and fire prevention.
The restriction applies to Adora Flora City departures on or after November 6, 2026. For Adora Magic City and Adora Mediterranea, it starts with sailings departing on or after January 1, 2027.
Cigarettes, e-cigarettes, heat-not-burn products and other aerosol-generating smoking devices are covered. Guests who smoke will still be able to use designated outdoor areas identified in onboard guides, daily programmes and signage.
Under the published policy, Adora may charge HKD 2,000 in liquidated damages for a first violation and HKD 3,000 for each subsequent violation. Serious cases may lead to additional claims for losses or disembarkation at an intermediate port, according to the operator.
The staggered dates are relevant to pre-departure advice for customers booking balcony cabins, particularly those travelling on Magic City or Mediterranea across the year-end change.
