Adora Flora City, successfully completed its floating out at Shipyard

On April 28, Adora Cruises announced that its second domestically-built large cruise ship, Adora Flora City, successfully completed its floating out at the Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Company under China Shipbuilding Group. The ship is now entering a critical stage of interior fitting and system debugging. Adora Flora City will feature comprehensive upgrades in space design, smart technology, and cruise experience, creating a “more beautiful, more tech-savvy, and more Chinese” cultural exploration journey at sea for both domestic and international guests.

Compared to the first domestically-built large cruise ship, Adora Magic City, Adora Flora City will have a “more beautiful” design, both in its hull and interior space. The ship has a larger gross tonnage, with the hull length extended by 17 meters, making the shape longer and more graceful. The ship’s atrium space has been doubled in size, and the interior design combines elements of Art Nouveau, the Maritime Silk Road, and Lingnan culture, presenting a naturally elegant layout. The fitness area has also been optimized to provide guests with a more comfortable and relaxed cruise experience.

In addition, Adora Flora City will feature more advanced smart technology to deliver a “more tech-savvy” customer experience. The cabins and public areas will integrate smart interactive functions, offering a more convenient holiday experience. The back-end spaces will also undergo technological upgrades to ensure greener and more eco-friendly cruise operations.

Furthermore, Adora Flora City will fully embrace a “more Chinese” cruise experience. The ship will offer 2,130 cabins, including a variety of new suite types, and it will feature revamped dining and shopping areas, designed to better cater to Chinese guests’ preferences for accommodation, dining, and shopping. Adora Flora City will also introduce an innovative open, multifunctional social space inspired by “Flower City,” with a “flower” design theme. This space will combine entertainment performances, leisure therapy, social interactions, and coffee culture, called the “Sea Street Garden,” which will change its scenes throughout the day, providing guests with an immersive and relaxed cruise vacation.

Adora Cruises stated: “The floating out of Adora Flora City is an important step toward the successful delivery by the end of 2026, and it marks the expansion of Adora’s fleet. As the owner and operator of domestically-built large cruise ships, we will continue to listen to feedback from Chinese consumers, continuously optimize our products and customer experiences, and deepen the ‘Cruise + Culture’ innovation model, creating a cruise vacation experience that better understands the Chinese market. In the future, Adora Cruises will continue to strengthen its presence in the Chinese market, promote the high-quality development of China’s cruise economy, and become a globally influential Chinese cruise flagship enterprise.”

Currently, Adora Cruises operates two large cruise ships: the first domestically-built large cruise ship Adora Magic City and the “Art Ship” Adora Mediterranean, serving over 620,000 domestic and international guests. The second domestically-built large cruise ship, Adora Flora City, has now been fully connected, and is planned to be delivered by the end of 2026, with international routes set to launch from Guangzhou Nansha.
